Key Responsibilities:

• Execute skilled welding tasks involving fabricating and repairing precast concrete building components using arc-welding equipment.
• Engage in the secure handling, erection, and welding of precast concrete buildings and structural components at various job sites.
• Ensure all allocated equipment is consistently maintained in a safe and operational condition.
• Fabricate weldments, embeds, and sub-assemblies based
• Analyze drawings to discern necessary repairs or construction requirements.
• Prepare for and safely execute welding projects, adhering to safety standards.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the precast concrete industry is an asset, however, we are willing to train motivated, dedicated people.
• Proficiency in understanding and implementing detailed verbal and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively within a team setting
• The capability to read and interpret drawings and plans is advantageous.
• Competence in basic mathematics and utilizing a tape measure.
• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools and their applications.
• Skill in using oxy/fuel torches for steel cutting.
• Proficient in stick welding with the ability to comprehend weld prints/symbols.
• Comfortable working at heights
• Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, punctual attendance, and adherence to work schedules.
• Knowledge and experience in adhering to construction safety policies and standards
• Proficient in safely operating assigned tools and equipment, including welders, cutting torches, man lifts, etc.
• Possession of WHMIS/GHS Certification, Working at Heights Certification, and Construction Health and Safety Basic Training.
