Since 1972, Fritz-Alder Precast has been a leader in precast concrete manufacturing and installation, continuously innovating to improve efficiency and product quality. As our operations grow, we are seeking competent Shunt Drivers to join our yard team, supporting both the Wetcast and Hollowcore Production Plants.

Position Overview:

The Shunt Driver will be responsible for transporting concrete and heavy products within the yard, ensuring efficient material movement between production and storage areas. This role involves operating trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment as needed to support daily operations. The position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Move concrete and heavy products from production to storage using Truck and Trailer, forklift, crane, or other yard equipment.
• Assist in keeping the yard efficient and clean, following direction from the Yard Foreman.
• Load and unload transports in accordance with safety and handling procedures.
• Keep track of paperwork, documentation sign-offs, and records related to transport and yard activities.
• Follow all safety procedures and work collaboratively with other operators to maintain a safe and efficient yard.
• Be available for day and afternoon shifts, with occasional early starts or extended hours as required to meet site demands.
• Basic experience with lifting, loading concrete products, or minor mechanical maintenance is considered an asset.

Qualifications:

• Experience in yard operations, shunting, or heavy equipment operation is preferred.
• Valid Full G Driving license required, AZ (Air brake endorsement) will be an asset
• Ability to operate trucks, trailers, forklifts, or cranes safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions from the Yard Foreman.
• Excellent organizational skills to maintain an efficient, clean, and safe yard.
• Capable of working in a physically demanding environment.
• Ability to adhere to traffic laws, company policies, and regulatory standards.

Schedule:

• Full-time, permanent position
• Day and afternoon shifts available
• Flexibility to start early or stay late when required
